Brand and web site creation
Feb 2005
Remember the Riders is a motorcycle awareness group that encourages riders to wear t-shirts in the wake of a local fatality to call attention to the importance of motorcycle safety.
CHALLENGE
Selling t-shirts about death could easily seem morbid and exploitive, so finding the right tone was important. And the real goal is to call attention to tragedies right when they happen, when public awareness can best be leveraged for positive change. So RTR needed a way to help make riders aware of when a fatality has occurred.
SOLUTION
Visually, the dark colors reflect the serious nature of the subject as well as the "biker mystique". The tone of the site and the shirts strives to be a little in-your-face, but without alienating readers.
An automated database and email system allows RTR to track fatalities from news sources around the country and automatically email customers or others who sign up when a fatality occurs in their area,
MY ROLE
