Feb 1991 Although this design is pretty simple, it remains one of my favorites. We were commemorating a new release of the Color Layout System which could import and export Encapsulated PostScript files, and Adobe Illustrator had just added the ability to place type on a curve. Anyway, I wanted the image to convey a marriage of free-form creativity with the precision and structure inherent in computerized design. By the way, here's what it says: "I demand of art, the role of challenger ... of play and interplay, play being the very manifestation of the spirit. All this work on proportion and measures is the outcome of a passion, ... a game." - Le Corbusier, The Modulor |
