Brand Dashboard is a tool for marketing professionals to analyze coverage of their brands in the media.

CHALLENGE
Brand Dashboard uses linguistic-processing technology to track information and statistics about brands in electronic documents: how often and where a brand is mentioned; what is being talked about; key people and relationships; and so on. There are many ways to look at the data: numerical, graphical, individual brands or comparisons, plotted over time, and so on. With so much information, the challenge was to make it feel simple and approachable.

SOLUTION
Charts are used wherever possible to present a clearer picture than just numbers. Comparison features show performance relative to industry averages, top performers or specific competitors. The Buzz Box points out other brands, companies and people being mentioned to identify trends and relationships that might otherwise be missed. And extensive pop-up panels provide an online glossary and help for understanding the significance of the data.

The software won Best Enterprise Application at the 2003 MIMC Awards.

MY ROLE
I worked extensively with the marketing and technical teams to define requirements and a conceptual and navigational framework for presenting such a rich set of information. I did all screen and user interface design, nd coded the front-end templates for database integration.
